This is a partnership between Percy Edwards, ornithologist, and Raymond Watson, artist. Percy Edwards is a life-time birder and well known for his bird-song imitations. He describes and analyzes the characteristic calls and songs of forty-eight song birds most familiar in British and Northern European gardens. He also includes his observations of bird behavior. The forty-eight lovely color plates, whose subjects have been chosen and specially commissioned in consultation with the author, make the book a thing of beauty, to be treasured by anyone who delights in the fellowship of birds.
