For many years as the director of the Delta Waterfowl Research Station in Manitoba, Canada, he has observed the ways of the waterfowl. Now he portrays and discusses the flights and habits of the birds he has watched in that vast marsh country - the wild ducks, geese, and swans of North America.

The volume is illustrated with drawings by the author, in which he conveys a sensitive appreciation of the grace and beauty of the wildlife of which he writes.
