Very good used paperback. Shelf worn.
Tropical and subtropical countries are now visited by thousands of travellers every year. This book provides a simple plant recognition guide for use by such people.
For ease of reference the text is divided into sections, e.g. trees, shrubs, climbers/vines, and waterside plants. Almost two hundred plants are described: the Latin name, common name(s), chief characteristics of leaves, flowers and fruit, and season of flowering are given for each plant. Each plant has its own colour photograph.
Both authors are internationally known horticultural writers and they have also travelled world-wide; all the plants described have been seen by them in at least two continents. So far as is known, this is the first book to relate these plants on a world-wide scale.
