Contains approximately 300 prints showcasing the original paintings in the collection of the New York Historical Society that were used by Audubon's engravers for The Birds of America. No text.

Housed in a two-drawer walnut folio box with brass pulls and plaque, the top of which may be raised for use as a display box. Top has a couple scratches in the wood.

In addition, includes a separate set of the prints along with the text, published in brown cloth with decorative endpapers, still in the publisher's original mailing box.
