It contains a complete annotated listing of all the birds which have occurred in California from 1900 to 1994, their range in the state, the seasons during which they occur, the habitat they frequent, and their breeding status.  Although not intended as an identification guide, it includes 336 full-color photographs of California's 586 species of birds and their natural habitats.  Maps of landform regions, localities, and counties are also included.
