Very Good hardcover in dust jacket. Minor foxing to top edge of pages. Slight chipping to dj. In protective vinyl covering.
Written in a simple, direct style, Birds of Mexico describes all of the 967 species and 2,000 geographic varieties that are found in Mexico, lower California, and the adjacent waters and associated islands. In addition to resident birds, all migrants from the US are described, and their distribution while in Mexico is briefly outlined. The author has used simple dichotomous keys to conspicuous characters as the focal points for preliminary identification. His keys, his graphic text descriptions, and the illustrations will enable the bird watcher to identify practically any bird seen in Mexico. More than a third of the birds described are illustrated with superb line drawings by Douglas E. Tibitts.
