Birds in a Garden City celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Photographic Society of Singapore. PSS member Lee Tiah Khee's gorgeous photographs are accompanied by descriptive text by Lim Kim Chuah. 156 species of birds of Singapore are included in this beautiful book.
A note from the photographer: "Through the years of photographing birds, I discovered how fortunate we are. Lying just 137 km north of the equator, Singapore is bathed in life-giving sunlight all year round. This encourages a great profusion of flora and fauna to flourish on our shores. We also have numerous parks and gardens as well as nature reserves, marshes and woodlands in the midst of our bustling metropolis. They provide important habitats for many species of birds. In spite of Singapore's status as an urban city-state, there are ample opportunities to observe and photograph birds throughout the year. The fact that all 156 species of birds depicted in this book were photographed in Singapore illustrates this point"
