This book presents a detailed and fascinating account of how two gravely injured wild birds were raised from infancy within the confines of an Episcopal Convent. Throughout the narration the author has liberally interspersed experiences, observations and events at the convent relating to other aspects of nature involving wild birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, plants, and even insects. She is a keen observer and true naturalist, and shares the feeling that the most satisfying form of nature study involves becoming intimately acquainted with individuals or families of a species and observing their activities in great detail over a period of time.
