ABA A Birder's Guide to Southern California, Third edition

This is the spiral bound Third Edition published in 1990 in very good condition. Much easier to use than the 2007 perfect bound edition which is now out of print.

Designed to assist birders in finding the most birds in the best birdwatching sites in Southern California. Organized around "loop" or "route" systems, it is intended to guide the birder mile by mile through these premier sites in twenty chapters. Accurate maps, an annotated list of specialties, advice on pelagic trips, a listing of miscellaneous birding areas, and a combined seasonal bar graph and checklist round out the book's features. 

The late Jim Lane wrote the first edition in 1968; it has been revised and expanded by his co-worker Harold Holt.
