This book is designed for use on a trip by car from Beaumont to Brownsville, including High Island, Anahuac Refuge, Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston Island, Freeport, Aransas Refuge, Rockport, Mustang and Padre Islands, King Ranch, Laguna Atascosa, and Port Isabel. The suggested routes follow the roads closest to the coast. Side trips to inland areas of interest are also described.  The authors describe the areas and which birds one is most likely to see in each spot.
